Top Posts And Commenters For June 2014

We’re now halfway through the year. Can you believe it? This year has flown by.

I hope you’ve been holding on and honing your leadership skills. That’s the only way you’re going to move from an emerging leader to a seasoned leader.

Education, preparation, implementation, action, and review. Those are the keys to continued growth.

That’s why, at the beginning of every month, I review what’s happening on the blog.

Why You Need To Be On Social Media

By now, everyone has heard of Facebook and Twitter. Possibly Google+, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.

They’re all forms of social media. And, as a leader, YOU need to be on at least one of them.

Pat Flynn, over at Smart Passive Income, has a saying:

Be everywhere

The mantra of Be Everywhere has been the key to Pat Flynn’s success as he built a passive income empire. Along the way, he also created a rabid following who hangs on every word he says.

His strategy works. But it’s overwhelming to the beginner.

When you begin to think of updating Facebook, Twitter, Google+. Pinterest, LinkedIn, and who knows what new social media network comes out next, you can easily feel overwhelmed. I mean, you’ve got to BE EVERYWHERE! Right?

Wrong…

While the Be Everywhere strategy works, I say hold off on implementing said strategy. Instead, just get started on social media.

What’s Working For Me In The Blogging World

One of the big takeaways I got from my recent reader survey was the desire to learn more about blogging and what creates a successful blog. Because of that, I want to share what’s working in blogging.

I want to be of help to you as you build your platform. As you grow your audience. As you take your leadership presence to the next level.

So, what’s working for me and my blog? There’s 4 things I’ve really been focusing on. If they’re working for me, I think they’ll work for you as well.

1. Creating a gift for email subscribers: It took me awhile but I released my first eBook in October of 2013. Since that time, my email list has grown at an accelerated rate. In the 6 months since the release of my eBook, I’ve seen my email list double in size.

4 Insights From My 2014 Reader Survey

In February, I launched my first reader survey. I did this because I wanted to get to know you, the reader, better. I wanted to know who you were, what you desired, and how I could help you achieve success.

Thankfully, you guys responded well and many of you answered the questions that I needed answered. So, let’s start off with a healthy THANK YOU! You guys rock and I couldn’t do this without you.

The response was greater than I’d hoped for. Over 25% of my readers responded to the survey. That’s great. It’s really helping me narrow down my focus and what I need to write to benefit you.

Analyzing the results of the survey, my typical reader would look like:

My typical reader is a male (70%)

He is aged 26-40 (74%)
