Uncommon Unity: Why Catalyst is Calling a Family Meeting

As many of you know, the Catalyst conference in Atlanta, Georgia is my favorite conference. Today, Friday, and Monday, I’m thankful to welcome members of the Catalyst staff the opportunity to share a little about the Catalyst conference and what’s going on this year.

First up is Tyler Reagin. You may remember him from the 2nd episode of the Answers From Leadership podcast.

It’s common in our culture to sort, divide, and exclude. These days, we often look out for our own best interests, but we believe Jesus is building something uncommon. He is building something that invites, transforms and sends.

This year’s Catalyst Atlanta event is about coming together, not as the same, but as uniquely gifted pieces forming an effective whole. And leadership is at the core of building that unity within the Church.

So, this October, we’re calling a family meeting.

Leading The Millennial Generation With Ann Fishman

The Answers From Leadership Podcast 019

Today’s guest on the Answers From Leadership podcast is Ann Fishman. For more than two decades, Ann has been at the forefront of major generational trends. Receiving four U.S. Senate Research Fellowships, she introduced America to lifelong learning and intergenerational mentoring by creating Senate Information Papers, national workshops, and Federal legislation.

I’m excited to bring Ann on the show to discuss generational trends in leadership, especially in relation to millennials. After my talk with Ann, I was pumped.

I think you will be as well.

Podcast Show Notes

Ann, what else do you want listeners to know about you?

The most interesting thing about my life is that I handed a cake to Roy Rogers when I was 10, I accidentally met Elvis Presley at an airport, and I was trapped in Hurricane Katrina and got out by a tugboat. You don’t get more interesting than that.

Episode 002 – Why Creativity Matters In Leadership With Tyler Reagin

The Answers From Leadership Podcast

Welcome to Episode 2 of The Answers From Leadership Podcast. This week, our guest is Tyler Reagin.

And I had the pleasure of interviewing him at Catalyst Atlanta this past October.

Meeting Tyler Reagin At Catalyst 2015

Show Notes:

Who is Tyler and what does he do at Catalyst?

Tyler leads the team at Catalyst. He helps provide spaces for leaders to grow, develop, and be equipped.

Why did you choose the theme Awaken The Wonder?

As we age, we begin to lose the wonder we had as children. It’s critical we reclaim this awe and wonder.

As leaders, we get bogged down in the minutia of reality. Digging into wonder brings something special to our leadership.

What’s Next For Young Church Leaders?

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend Catalyst Conference in Atlanta. I heard firsthand from some of today’s most influential Christian leaders, authors, and artists.

I shared a lot of the content from the conference speakers here on my blog, and I hope you all were as inspired and activated as I was to make bold changes to become the leaders God has called you to be.

Catalyst also hosts several smaller, more intimate gatherings for leaders who love the Church across country each year. Their next event is Catalyst Next in Washington, D.C., on November 17 at the Lincoln Theater.

Awaken The Wonder – Catalyst 2015 Andy Stanley

Catalyst Atlanta once again opens up with Andy Stanley. He’s the senior pastor of North Point Ministries and the author of Ask It!

Catalyst 2015 Atlanta: Andy Stanley Awakens The Wonder

We’ve all experienced an awakening of wonder at some point in our lives. For men and women, it’s typically different.

For men, it’s when we walked outside one day and BOOM! We saw the girl next door and we experienced her beauty, we smelled scents that we never smelled before. Wonder was awakened.

For women, it happened when they were walking down the mall. That same store that was passed by multiple times or your mother dragged you into suddenly lit up as you saw that pair of shoes. Wonder was awakened.

Then, there was the wonder of babies being born, coming to faith, realizing God loves us unconditionally. Wonder was awakened.

When Wonder Is Awakened

Something magical happens when the wonder is awakened.
