Will You Join Me At Catalyst Atlanta This Year? (With A Giveaway)

Every October for the past 5 years has marked a time of extraordinary growth for my wife and I. Why?

Because we’ve attended the Catalyst Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. And we will again this year.

I also want to give you the chance to attend this year’s conference. That’s why at the end of the post, I’ve teamed up with Catalyst to give away a free ticket (Valued at $299).

Experience the wonder of Catalyst Leadership Conference

What Is Catalyst Conference?

If you’ve read my blog for any period of time, you may have seen me mention Catalyst and the impactful events they’ve put on. I’ve attended the last 5 and live blogged the previous 2.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Catalyst, it’s a community of Change Makers.

The conference was conceived by Andy Stanley, Reggie Joiner, John Maxwell, Lanny Donoho, and many other young leaders. Their mission today is to embolden leaders all over the world.

Leadership Lessons From The Catalyst Leadership Labs 2014

Wednesday was the unofficial start of the Catalyst Leadership Conference in Atlanta. It’s unofficial because it was the lab sessions (but, if I’m honest, the labs have become my favorite part of the Catalyst Conference experience).

The labs are an amazing feature of Catalyst. The Catalyst Labs are different from the Catalyst Conference main sessions. With the Labs, you will only be forced to see 2-3 specified speakers and then there are 3 breakout sessions where you can choose the leadership speaker you would like to see. It adds a fun element to the Catalyst experience.

Reggie Joiner of the Orange Conference opened up the PreLab session. While his points on leadership were spot on, I took away pointers on how to present well in addition to the leadership lessons.

This section will be a mix of presentation tips and leadership lessons presented in Reggie Joiner’s session.

Catalyst Atlanta 2013 Recap

I returned from the Catalyst Atlanta Conference over the weekend. I can’t believe it’s done already.

My time there was a whirlwind. I was able to attend the Catalyst Lab sessions on Wednesday and then attend two days worth of great leadership content.

This year the theme of the conference was KNOWN.

Identity

Calling

Legacy

How are you known?

These three items were the core of the conference. What are we known as. What are we known by. What are we known for.

When you combine these three pieces, you are known. And known well.

What I Learned At Catalyst

You may be wondering what I learned during my time at Catalyst. Honestly, it was a lot. Almost to the point of overwhelm.

Catalyst Conference East 2011 Atlanta, GA

Today our youth pastor, two friends, my wife and I will be leaving for Catalyst East. Catalyst is a leadership conference for young leaders to join together for worship, learn about leadership, and to generate a tremendous amount of energy. It’s been likened to Acquire The Fire or Dare 2 Share for adult leaders. It’s looking to be an awesome event.

The theme of this years conference is: Be Present. We’re going to be encouraged to give our full attention to the things at hand, to pay attention to those in front of us, and to take action where we are. This is a message we need today as we’re in a world of constant distractions.
