Quotes And Leadership Lessons From The Adam Project

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

The Adam Project is a Netflix original movie. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Big Adam Reed, Walker Scobell as Young Adam Reed (I will refer to each as Big or Young as both appear throughout the movie at the same time), Mark Ruffalo as Louis Reed, Jennifer Garner as Ellie Reed, and Zoe Saldana as Laura.

This movie has consistently been rated as a top movie in the Netflix ratings. For good reason, too.

The movie is intelligent, funny, and brings in a lot of pop culture references. Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, and more are referenced within the film. All of this is without seeming cheesy or overly promotional.

Do You Have A Challenger Group?

Everyone talks about mastermind groups. These are groups of people who help you define your business ideas, become a better person, or encourage you.

Mastermind groups are great. I’ve seen much of my success come from hanging out with similar, like-minded people.

However, my thought process has begun to change on the types of people I hang out with or want to hang around.

Masterminds are typically people who are like-minded. This means they think similarly to you.

I’ve found this to be limiting. Like-minded people rarely stretch me. We find ourselves agreeing on too much and not changing our limiting beliefs.

Instead, I have begun seeking out challenger groups.

What Is A Challenger Group?

A challenger group can be made up of like-minded people; however the more diverse and different thinking the group, the better.

Awareness

Depending on the industry, you might have employees that are regularly put at risk. It might be at risk of criminal activity, cybercrime, physical attacks, or theft. On-the-job accidents can happen too and are common in many different industries; most often, they occur in a labor environment.

All new hires should make an effort to help them be aware of the potential dangers around them. But employees that have been around a while should also have regular refresher courses to keep them vigilant too.

5 Leadership Lessons From Running

According to Country Living, today is Global Running Day. The purpose of Global Running Day is to encourage people to get out and run.

I know, I know, most of you are groaning and dreading the thought of running. However, I have found running has multiple benefits.

Especially for leaders.

That’s why I want to share with you 5 leadership lessons from running. Being a runner, I’ve put in the miles. I’ve run multiple half marathons, a few 25k runs, and one, yes one, full marathon.

During my runs, I am able to focus and think about the world around me. Today, we’re going to look at what I’ve learned while running and pounding the pavement.
