How To Do Good Without Growing Weary

Who doesn’t want to do good? There’s an innate feeling within each and every one of us that we want to do good even though we live in a fallen world.

Talk to anyone on the street. You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who truly wants to do evil.

While most people want to do good, they find it hard to continuously do good. Eventually they become weary and worn out.

There’s an interesting scripture in the Bible (I know, not all of you believe in the Bible. If you’re someone who doesn’t, please bear with me). Galatians 6:9 recognizes the fact doing good can make us weary. Here it is:

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Why You Need To Be On Social Media

By now, everyone has heard of Facebook and Twitter. Possibly Google+, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.

They’re all forms of social media. And, as a leader, YOU need to be on at least one of them.

Pat Flynn, over at Smart Passive Income, has a saying:

Be everywhere

The mantra of Be Everywhere has been the key to Pat Flynn’s success as he built a passive income empire. Along the way, he also created a rabid following who hangs on every word he says.

His strategy works. But it’s overwhelming to the beginner.

When you begin to think of updating Facebook, Twitter, Google+. Pinterest, LinkedIn, and who knows what new social media network comes out next, you can easily feel overwhelmed. I mean, you’ve got to BE EVERYWHERE! Right?

Wrong…

While the Be Everywhere strategy works, I say hold off on implementing said strategy. Instead, just get started on social media.

3 Areas Young Leaders Should Never Compromise

Take a look at leadership failures. Think of great leaders who have failed.

Without even thinking about leaders who have failed, a couple come to mind:

General Petraeus

President Bill Clinton

Tiger Woods

Tim Lambesis (Lead singer of As I Lay Dying

Jim Bakker

Those are but a few of the leaders who have seen their leadership destroyed or tarnished because they compromised in areas no leader should ever compromise. And I’m not naming any names to shame anyone. I’m bringing examples you probably know.

Once you begin to compromise in these areas, you’re on a very slippery slope that could wipe out your influence as a leader.

That’s why I want to look at the areas that are vital to maintaining great leadership.

Leaders, especially young leaders, should never compromise:

Top Three Choices Your Future Self Hopes You Will Make Today

The person you are today is a result of your past decisions. You cannot change the decisions you made in the past. However, you have complete control over the choices you make going forward. The choices you make today will create your future. The following are the top three choices you can make to positively impact your future.

Choose Thankfulness

Choosing to be thankful has been proven in scientific studies to create better health, a more positive attitude and better relationships. What we focus on expands. I’m not talking about some cosmic hocus pocus. What I mean is that when we focus on something, our subconscious mind begins to make us more aware of the things we focus on. An example would be me telling you to be on the lookout for a Toyota Camry the next time you travel. You will begin to see them everywhere because now your subconscious mind is looking for them. Toyota Camrys were there all along. But until you focus on them, you may or may not notice them.
