Giving Thanks

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. Most of us will be sitting down to a turkey dinner with friends and family. Some of us may be watching the traditional parades or football game.

I encourage you to enjoy this day. It is a time for reflection, being with family, and giving thanks.

I hope you have something to give thanks for.

If not, examine your life and you will find something to be thankful about.

Today, I would like to express my thankfulness and the things that I am thankful for.

Following is but a handful of things I am thankful for –

  • Pamela, My Wife:
I am so thankful she chose to accept me as her husband. She has been a strong foundation and great help. There is no one I would rather spend my life with.
  • Joseph and Marietta, My Parents:
They taught me much growing up. They provided me with shelter, with knowledge, with love. Thank you for helping me become the man that I am.
  • Terri, Steve, Debi, Sharon, and Joe, My Siblings:
I could not ask for better brothers and sisters than you five. You have brought much joy and laughter into my life. Thank you.
  • My In-Laws:
You hear horror stories about in-laws. That could not be further from the truth with mine. They have welcomed me into their family as one of their own. Thank you for treating me as one of the family.
  • My Employer:
I am thankful for the work you provide me with. It allows me to provide for my wife and myself. It is a pleasure to work for you.
  • Leviticus and Zane, My Dogs:
My two dogs are wonderful. They bring much happiness to our household. The companionship they give is unparalleled.
  • My Church:
Thank you Oakcrest. You have provided a place to worship and grow in God. I am thankful for the love and grace you pour out upon the congregation.
  • Technology:
Technology is a blessing. I am thankful it allows me to connect with others. It can provide entertainment, release, and knowledge.
  • God:
Without God, I am unsure of where I would be. The grace and forgiveness you pour out upon your followers is amazing. Thank you for the love you have for us.
  • You, My Readers:
I am thankful for you, my readers. Your comments have been encouraging. It is a blessing to know that you are reading what I write and that it is helping you grow. Thank you.

Even in the worst times of our lives, there are things to be thankful for. Take time today, tomorrow, and every day to meditate on what you can be thankful for.

I hope my list of things that I am thankful for has inspired you today. Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow.
