Who Is Accountable?

A significant problem in many businesses is trying to determine who is ultimately responsible for a project’s success. The problem isn’t in that there’s no accountability but in the realization that too many people are responsible for the results.

In their book What The Heck Is EOS?, Gino Wickman and Tom Bouwer explore the topic of accountability in one of the chapters.

In chapter 4 of the book, titled Who’s Doing What?, Wickman and Bouwer said:

If everyone is accountable, then no one is.

The Problem WIth Everyone Being Accountable

It sounds like a dream come true. Everyone on your team wants to be accountable for results. They believe they own every project they’re working on.

Truth be told, they don’t.

There’s an old saying that goes like this: There are too many cooks in the kitchen.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Morbius

A Reel Leadership Article

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

After many delays, the world is finally able to see the new Sony Spider-Man-based film Morbius. Morbius stars Jared Leto as Doctor Michael Morbius. Morbius has a rare blood disease that causes extreme pain and physical issues. One of those is difficulty in mobility.

Morbius is a brilliant scientist who seeks out a cure for his disease. He takes steps many people would never consider until he eventually finds a cure.

While the cure heals his condition and he can walk again, the cure also makes him into a living vampire. He now longs for blood.

Uh oh. That can’t be good.

Critics may have hated the film but I found myself enjoying Morbius. It was great seeing a childhood favorite on the big screen and done well.

5 Leadership Lessons From The Slap Heard Around The World

For those of you who watched the 2022 Oscars, you saw and heard the slap heard around the world. Chris Rock, an actor and comedian, cracked a joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett.

Chris Rock told Jada that he was looking forward to seeing GI Jane 2. Jada had shaved her head due to a medical condition, alopecia. This condition is an autoimmune disease that can cause hair loss.

Will Smith laughs after the joke is made while his wife’s face shows how upset she is. Moments later, after the camera cuts away from Will and Jada, Will approaches the stage and smacks Chris Rock.

(see the video below but be aware there is some coarse language)

Ouch! That is a smack heard around the world.
