How To Do Good Without Growing Weary

Who doesn’t want to do good? There’s an innate feeling within each and every one of us that we want to do good even though we live in a fallen world.

Talk to anyone on the street. You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who truly wants to do evil.

While most people want to do good, they find it hard to continuously do good. Eventually they become weary and worn out.

There’s an interesting scripture in the Bible (I know, not all of you believe in the Bible. If you’re someone who doesn’t, please bear with me). Galatians 6:9 recognizes the fact doing good can make us weary. Here it is:

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Start Here: Four Ways to Increase Your Productivity

You’re dripping wet, on the phone, with your “to do” list in your hand. It is only after you hang up the phone and start to towel off that you realize that you still haven’t rinsed the shampoo out of your hair.

Consider this a wake-up call.

Productivity does not mean doing a million things at once. It doesn’t mean that the job stays half done all week and it certainly requires your hair to be completely washed.

Productivity means that any given job gets done in a reasonable amount of time because you are focused and organized.

The good news is that there are many ways to increase your productivity without making your life more complicated or noisy. In fact, a few simple and daily changes can help you grow in productivity while decreasing your stress.

Sometimes Rest Will Be Forced Upon You

One of the things I really enjoy is an early morning run. I’m able to get up and out of the house before anyone is awake and hit the road running.

My mind becomes focused on completing the run within half an hour. Running is a blast.

And yet I’ve suddenly been sidelined. I’ve been forced to rest.

Ever been there?

I’ve been forced to stop running and rest because of a foot injury. There are days it kills to walk.

I knew something had to be done so I’ve cut back on running, almost to the point of quitting.

This isn’t what I wanted. I wanted to keep running. To stay fit. To log the miles.

But here I am. Sitting and waiting for my feet to heal.

7 Mistakes Leaders Should Avoid Making

Bad leaders are rarely born. Rather they slowly edge their way towards the edge. Before you know it, you’re there.

No leader wants to venture into the badlands. Great leaders want to build great teams, complete their visions, and more. But they can’t do that if they’ve been pulled into bad leadership traits.

So that’s what we’re going to talk about. Mistakes leaders make and what they can do to avoid it.

1. Gossiping: Gossip is a weed that spreads like wildfire through an organization. Left untamed it will leave your company in ruins. Don’t buy into the gossip. Stop spreading it and stop those who are.

When you hear gossip, nip it in the bud. Confront the one who’s sharing the “juicy” tidbit. If necessary, let the team member go. Gossip is toxic!

What To Do When Leading Sucks

Leaders know there will be days when they no longer want to lead. Leadership is difficult and ungrateful at times. But what can we do about that?

A fellow leader brought this up during a recent coffee outing. He’s finding himself frustrated with his leadership position. There are feelings that things are going no where and he can’t change them.

Upper management doesn’t want to take on new ideas to increase their influence. Those he’s leading aren’t performing up to standard.

This is when he said “Leadership sucks. I’m not liking this.”

I think any leader that’s been around long enough has felt this way. They know there are leadership struggles every leader will face.

So what makes these leaders continue on the leadership journey? Are they superhuman or have some sort of magical power?
