Every day, you will encounter problems. Some little, some big. All needing an answer.

So, how do you problem-solve? How do you handle the situations and issues that arise every day?

The greatest mistake we make is teaching our children to memorize things without even understanding,
Instead of teaching them problem solving and critical thinking.”
― Mouloud Benzadi

Some people handle it poorly. They make bad decisions, get angry, frustrated, lash out at others. That’s not how a great leader problem solves.

They do the following 3 actions to get through the problems of the day.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom

A Reel Leadership Article

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

This past weekend saw the DC Snyderverse come to a close. The Aquaman sequel, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, was released to less than stellar reviews. However, I still went and watched the film.

Guess what? While not as good as the first Aquaman movie, it’s still solid. Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom sees Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) facing the returning threat of David Kane/Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).

Black Manta returns to remove Aquaman from his throne, make him suffer, and destroy everything he loves. To stop him, Aquaman has to free his once-evil brother, King Orm (Patrick Ailson), to help battle Black Manta and the powerful Black Trident.

It’s a fun movie if you let it be. It’s also a movie full of leadership lessons.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From The Marvels

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

Many people have said the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been in decline since the amazing Avengers: Endgame movie. While there haven’t been as many great movies since that film, Marvel still has had some winners.

Having previously seen Captain Marvel and not being a fan, I wasn’t too excited about their latest film, The Marvels. The Marvels continues the story of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau/Photon (Yeyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). The trio all have light-based powers that get entangled thanks to a new threat.

For those of you who haven’t watched Captain Marvel or the Ms. Marvel Disney Plus series, you may come away a little lost. This movie picks up after both of these, and they are crucial to understanding what is happening. However, I think you can enjoy this movie even without the backstory from those two entries.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Five Nights At Freddy’s

A Reel Leadership Article

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

Who remembers Chuck E. Cheese or Showtime Pizza? These entertainment centers had anthropomorphic characters who entertained children while they dined on pizza or played arcade games. More than that, these two restaurants appear to be the inspiration for some of the characters in the Five Nights At Freddy’s video game and now a movie.

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza resembles these pizza chains in an eery way. While Chuck E. Cheese and Showtime Pizza both had a creepy vibe to them, Five Nights At Freddy’s takes it to a whole new level.

Four of the animatronics from Five Nights At Freddy's

What’s the premise behind Five Nights At Freddy’s movie? A down-on-his-luck man, Mike (Josh Hutcherson), is trying to find a job. He has to take care of his sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), after their mother passes away and their father leaves. He goes to a career counselor, Steve Raglan (Matthew Lillard), for a job placement. Steve recommends he try a night security position at the now-defunct Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Hellboy: Sword Of Storms

A Reel Leadership Article

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

Hellboy has been a quirky comic book character created by Mike Mignola since first appearing in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2. Recently, it was discovered that Hellboy also appeared before this issue in Next Men #21 in 1993. He’s been a character that’s been around for a long time!

He’s also appeared in multiple movies. He first appeared in a live-action film in the 2004 Hellboy movie starring Ron Perlman. His second film was Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Most recently, David Harbour took over as Hellboy in the 2019 Hellboy film.

Many casual moviegoers don’t realize there’s also been an animated movie universe for Hellboy that occurred between the two Perlman films. There’s the 2007 Hellboy: Blood and Iron. Then there’s the focus of today’s Reel Leadership article, the 2006 Hellboy: Sword Of Storms.
