How To Bring Positivity During A Crisis Like COVID-19/Coronavirus

Tough times begin to wear on people. That’s been the truth for many people lately.

Layoffs. Job terminations. Trying to keep the business afloat.

So much stress has been placed on the shoulders of leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is heavy. It hurts. And leaders are struggling to stay positive.

Staying positive during a crisis might seem like someone struggling to keep their head above water. Or maybe they’re trying to hold a sparkler above their head while sinking… It doesn’t make sense. But it does…

I’ve noticed something. Those impacted by the layoffs and job terminations are trying their best to stay positive. It brings a smile to my face to see what the average person is doing. What they’re doing is above average. It might even be considered leader-like.

What Will Your New Normal Be After COVID-19?

Right now, we’re all experiencing a new normal. The world has been flipped upside down. The Coronavirus has ravaged countries across the planet.

It’s something I never thought I would see. People laid off for an extended amount of time due to a global pandemic. Businesses scrambling to figure out the best way to help their team members while staying afloat. Churches struggling to keep the lights on because giving has gone down.

Who would have thought?!?

Through all of this, a new normal for people has emerged. People are getting out to walk or ride bikes with their spouses and children. They’ve found time to make their yards clean and presentable. Honey-do lists are being completed at a record pace.

6 Ways To Stay Healthy During The COVID-19 Crisis

Crises hit leaders all of the time. Though, our latest crisis (nay, pandemic) is the COVID-19/Coronavirus is something completely different than many of us have ever faced.

Non-essential businesses are shutting down. Essential businesses have to expose their team members to the possibility of contact with the virus.

It’s a scary, scary time.

In times like this, it is easy for a leader to focus primarily on their team. They look for ways to help their team members through the crisis. But what about the leader? Doesn’t he need to stay healthy throughout the crisis as well?

Leaders do need to stay healthy. They need to make sure they’re looking after their physical and mental needs. Today, I want to share 6 ways leaders can stay healthy during a crisis.

Why Business Leaders Need To Have Their Organizations Be Financially Independent During Crises Like The Coronavirus Pandemic

Running a business is hard. You have to balance workloads with staffing. You have to find ways to bring in new customers while previous customers may not return. And, most importantly, you have to run in the black instead of the red.

As a lot of businesses are learning during the Coronavirus pandemic, they’re not in a good position financially. They’re struggling to keep the doors open. Some businesses are even closing their doors (Logan’s Restaurant did just that).

This creates a major issue. Not only will the economy lose the money coming in from the businesses that close, but their team members are also left struggling to figure out what to do.

Could you imagine going into work, learning you have been laid off until the current crisis was resolved, and then find out you no longer have a job to go back to? Many people are facing this reality.

Leading In A Time Of Crisis And COVID-19

We’re leading in a time like no other. With all of our technological advancements, we’re struggling to cope with the COVID-19 virus. It has sickened almost one million people and killed over 50,000.

People are scared to go to work. Governments have told non-essential businesses to close their doors for an undetermined amount of time.

It’s scary folks. It’s a time of crisis.
