Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Kung Fu Panda 4

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

Let me be honest with you… Prior to watching Kung Fu Panda 4, I had never watched a Kung Fu Panda movie all the way through. And there’s a lot of them before this. That being said, I went into the movie knowing very little about Po (Jack Black) and his compatriots. It was a new world to me and one where I didn’t need to know much about the past history. I don’t think you will need to know much about them either.

In Kung Fu Panda 4, Po is the Dragon Warrior, a powerful prodigy who can wield limitless power. He’s also the protector of the citizens of the Valley of Peace. But things are changing. His master, Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), encourages him to change. Shifu believes it is time for Po to become the Spiritual Leader and pass the title of Dragon Warrior to someone new.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I went to see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie. My mind wandered to “Oh great, another reboot… and the animation looks sloppy.”

Other than my love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there wasn’t much desire to see this new film. Yet, I went because of Reel Leadership. I had to see the latest movie so I could share the leadership lessons found in the film.

I’m glad I did. This reboot was done well and shone as a great example of doing a reboot well.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From The Live Action Lion King

I can’t tell you how excited I was to see the new, live-action Lion King movie. The Lion King was a favorite movie of mine and to see it brought to life seemed like a no-brainer.

Oh… how wrong I was.

The latest Disney animated movie to be brought to life didn’t wow and engage like their previous effort, Aladdin. Instead, Pam and I sat bored in the theater watching this trainwreck of a movie.

The new Lion King felt uninspired and thrown together. Nothing truly caught my attention and I was disappointed because of this.

If you do go and watch the live-action Lion King, know you won’t be in for a great movie. You’ll be in for a great movie made into something mediocre.
