Tom Holland returns to the fun role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Spider-Man: Far From Home picks up shortly after the recent Avengers: Endgame movie.
Peter Parker is still reeling from the aftermath of Endgame. His friend and mentor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Junior), is dead. He’s trying to figure out his place in the world he recently returned to. And he has a big legacy to live up to.
Not only that, Peter has a love interest, a classmate named MJ (Zendaya). His class is going on an overseas trip (hence the Far From Home subtitle) and he has a big plan. He’s going to ask MJ out.
All of Peter’s plans go in the trash when something crazy happens. A water elemental who looks a lot like Hydro-Man, a Spider-Man villain who controls water, attacks London while Peter and his class are there. Read more...
The movie theater has been a great place for those who love comic book movies. Last week, theatergoers were treated to the DC Comics movie Shazam! In two weeks, audiences will be treated to the Avengers: Infinity War sequel Endgame, and this weekend saw the release of Dark Horse Comics Hellboy.
Hellboy is the 3rd Hellboy movie to be released in the theaters. The first two starred a man who nailed the look of Hellboy, Ron Perlman. Sadly, Perlman did not return for the latest entry in the Hellboy series as this is more of a reboot than a sequel.
The Hellboy movie is based upon the Mike Mignola comic books and graphic novels. Hellboy is stuck in a war between the supernatural and human worlds.
While I remember the original Hellboy movies to be a fun, fairly upbeat series of movies, the latest Hellboy movie takes a dark turn. It’s much darker and grittier than the previous movies. This will turn some people off. Read more...
On Monday, November 13th, 2018 the world lost a giant in the comic and entertainment world. Stan Lee passed away at the age of 95. The world will feel the loss of this pioneering leader for years to come.
I’m still trying to process what Stan Lee’s death means. He is, after all, the co-creator of Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, the X-Men, and many other Marvel superheroes.
His creations have brought delight to the hearts and minds of many around the world, including mine. I still have fond memories of reading his creations. In fact, I still read many of the comic book lines he helped create.
With Stan Lee’s passing, I wanted to take a look at some of the memorable leadership quotes of Stan Lee. I hope you’ll join me in paying tribute to the life of Stan Lee and the joy he’s brought to so many people. Read more...
Pam and I were planning on seeing the new Tom Cruise movie Mission Impossible: Fallout this past weekend with our Moviepass accounts. However, due to the recent troubles Moviepass has faced, the movie we’d desired to see was blocked out from our account. This meant we had to choose another movie this weekend.
That movie was the DC Comics animated movie Teen Titans Go! To The Movies. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies brings the most recent Teen Titans cartoon to the big screen. This series is not as serious as the previous Teen Titans cartoon or the upcoming R-Rated Teen Titans live-action streaming series on the DC Universe streaming service.
Instead of being serious or dark, Teen Titans Go! plays up the sidekick superheroes as immature, childish, and selfish. This made for a fun time at the theater. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies also provided many leadership lessons. In this week’s Reel Leadership, we’re going to look at the leadership lessons from Teen Titans Go! To The Movies. Read more...
We first saw Tom Holland as Spider-Man in the film Captain America: Civil War. His role was brief but fun.
Now we are treated to Tom Holland’s first full outing as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And it is an amazing blast.
Spider-Man: Homecoming continues Spider-Man’s story following the events of Captain America: Civil War. Peter Parker dons the same suit he had in Civil War to become the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in his own neighborhood.
Except for he begins to face challenges he can’t handle with his inexperience.
Peter Parker encounters Adrian Toomes/The Vulture (Played by Michael Keaton who once played Batman). He and his team are equipped with weapons fashioned from alien technology. That weaponry is dangerous. More dangerous than our friendly Spider-Man should be facing on his own. Read more...
