Jumanji: The Next Level is the 4th movie in the Jumanji series. The first movie in the Jumanji series was the Robin Williams Jumanji. It was followed by the sequel Zathura: A Space Adventure. Then, the board game mysteriously became a video game with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Now, we have The Next Level.

Was there really a need for another Jumanji movie? No… I don’t think there was. Is Jumanji: The Next Level enjoyable? Yes… it was.

Jumanji: The Next Level sees the cast of Welcome To The Jungle return to the world of Jumanji along with two new characters, Eddie (Danny DeVito) and Milo (Danny Glover). My thought going into Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle was “Do we really need another remake of a film?” The 1995 Jumanji starred Robin Williams as Alan Parrish (who gets a nod in the new Jumanji). Williams character was sucked into the world of Jumanji much like the characters in the new movie.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle tells the story of four students: Spencer (Alex Wolff), Bethany (Madison Iseman), Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain), and Martha (Morgan Turner) as they follow the same path as Alan Parrish. While in detention, these four characters discover an old video game system with a Jumanji cartridge already inserted into the console.
