A Reel Leadership Article

Jumanji: The Next Level is the 4th movie in the Jumanji series. The first movie in the Jumanji series was the Robin Williams Jumanji. It was followed by the sequel Zathura: A Space Adventure. Then, the board game mysteriously became a video game with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Now, we have The Next Level.

Was there really a need for another Jumanji movie? No… I don’t think there was. Is Jumanji: The Next Level enjoyable? Yes… it was.

For many of us, there’s nothing better than a good summer action movie. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw gives you and I just that. A movie you can sit back, shut off, and enjoy from beginning to end.

Taking place after Fast & Furious 7, lawman Luke Hobbs (Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson) and criminal Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are forced to join forces in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. The action is fast, the story is passable (especially for a summer movie), and it sets itself up for a sequel.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Skyscraper

When I first saw the trailer for Skyscraper with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, I was hooked. The trailer for Skyscraper looked like a cross between my favorite Christmas movie Die Hard and Liam Neeson’s Taken. With those two movies combined, it had to be good.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson in Skyscraper movie

Skyscraper tells the story of Will Sawyer. Will is a former FBI agent with a prosthetic leg after a botched hostage negotiation. He goes on to build a security consulting agency and is tasked with assessing the security and safety of the world’s largest skyscraper, The Pearl, in Hong Kong.

Things begin to go bad and the skyscraper goes up in flames. While this would be issue enough, Will soon discovers his wife Sarah Sawyer (Neve Campbell) and their twin children, Georgia Sawyer (McKenna Roberts) and Henry Sawyer (Noah Cottrell). Will knows he must go to extreme lengths to save the ones he loves.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle

My thought going into Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle was “Do we really need another remake of a film?” The 1995 Jumanji starred Robin Williams as Alan Parrish (who gets a nod in the new Jumanji). Williams character was sucked into the world of Jumanji much like the characters in the new movie.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle tells the story of four students: Spencer (Alex Wolff), Bethany (Madison Iseman), Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain), and Martha (Morgan Turner) as they follow the same path as Alan Parrish. While in detention, these four characters discover an old video game system with a Jumanji cartridge already inserted into the console.

They turn on the system, choose their avatars, and are suddenly transported into the video game. Welcome to the jungle, gang!
