I don’t remember a lot of my sleeping dreams. My wife, on the other hand, can vividly recall her dreams. I often wonder why I can’t remember these kinds of dreams.
However, I do know that I have waking dreams. These dreams are what I hope to become, aspire to, or want to do with my life.
We all have both types of dreams. We don’t always recall them but they are there.
Today, I want to ask you: What’s your dream?
What’s Your Dream?
My list of dreams keeps growing as I check off the things that I’ve accomplished. Some of my dreams have been:
- Running a half marathon
- Skydiving
- Ice climbing
- Running a FULL marathon
- Getting married
- Writing a book
- Traveling with Pam
- Paying off my house
Then there are dreams that I haven’t seen fulfilled yet. These dreams are:
- Climbing Mt. Everest
- Having children
- Becoming self-employed
- Traveling the country to speak
There’s more dreams than this but you get the gist. We all have dreams. We have things we want to accomplish or be known for.
Without knowing what your dreams are, you will never reach those dreams. You have to know what your dreams are.
Make A List
In the song, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, the lyrics go a little like this:
You better watch out.
You better not cry.
Better not pout.
I’m telling you why.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
He’s making a list.
He’s checking it twice.
Santa wants to deliver presents to the good kids. What does he do? He makes a list. The list helps Santa achieve his dream.
When you create a list of your dreams, you help yourself realize what you really want to accomplish. By writing down each item you want to do, you have put an idea to paper. You’ve made it real.
So, my question to you today is: What’s your dream? What things do you want to accomplish? They don’t have to be business-based. They can be real-life adventures you want to go on. They can be related to your family. Or they could be completely off the wall.
The more items you write down, the more easily you can visualize yourself doing these things. You can move toward your dreams. Then, when you accomplish one of those dreams, you can mark it off the list. This helps you see progress.
Make your list today. Find out what will go on the list. Then go out and tackle those dreams.
