Finding Purpose And Meaning In Leadership

As a Christian leader, I believe everyone has a purpose and meaning for their lives. Everyone was created for something special in this world. In Ephesians 2:10, the Bible tells us that we are Christ’s workmanship. We are created in Christ Jesus for good works (purpose). 

You and I… We were not created by accident. We were created for something.

While I believe this purpose and meaning comes from the lives we live, we can find purpose and meaning in the things that we do. Including the organizations and people we lead. There’s a purpose and meaning behind this!

The Influence Of A Leader’s Actions In Personal And Professional Relationships

As a leader, people are watching you. They’re looking to see how you will respond to difficult circumstances, challenging people, and even success. People want to know how you will respond to what you’re experiencing. 

Beyond that, people are also listening. They’re listening to hear what you say, how you say it, and in what tone you say what you say. 

Being a leader is difficult because you’re always under a microscope. 

You have to step into leadership knowing this. When you do, you’re prepared to understand how your actions influence personal and professional relationships.

I always think of the youth students my wife and I have mentored. We’ve been in youth ministry for over 20 years. That’s an insane amount of time, but we love the students and know we’re making a difference.  Read more...

Embracing Servant Leadership in Your Relationships

Servant leadership is an especially popular idea in the faith community. Yet, servant leadership is applicable in more arenas than in the religious world. You can practice servant leadership wherever you lead.

But, you may be asking yourself, what is servant leadership?

Servant leadership places an emphasis on the leader to steward and care for the resources of an organization. They believe they’ve been placed in a position of trust. More than that, this line of reasoning uses the idea that leaders are servants first. They have to make the needs of their employees a priority.

This flips the script on the traditional leadership paradigm. The leader is no longer at the top. Their main goal is to serve others and help the organization thrive. 

It’s a bold concept. That works.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Asteroid City

I’m not very familiar with director Wes Anderson’s films. The only film of his other than Asteroid City that I have viewed is the 2009 Fantastic Mr. Fox. That was an enjoyable and unique movie.

Having recently watched Asteroid City, I’ve been left confused and scratching my head. I’m not sure what I watched. From what I gathered, the film is about a famous author and a fictional play he wrote about a grieving father.

The tale weaves in and out of the play, a few intermissions, and an epilogue. 

There are some laughs, an interesting story filled with A-List stars, including Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, and others, along with a lot of confusion. Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever

The critically acclaimed Black Panther movie starring Chadwick Boseman was released in 2018. Boseman was hailed as the quintessential Black Panther. Sadly, Boseman passed away on August 28th, 2020, from a battle with cancer.

His death put a kink in the planned Black Panther 2 movie, Wakanda Forever. He was set to continue holding the mantle of Black Panther. However, Marvel Studios had to change the storyline due to the passing of this great movie star.

While Boseman’s presence is missed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you can sense how much the producers, directors, and actors cared for their fallen star. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a love letter to Boseman. And a good one at that!
