Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Netflix’s Point Blank

Point Blank is a Netflix original movie that recently was released on the streaming service. The movie tells the story of Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson in The Avengers movies) as Paul the nurse and Frank Grillo as the criminal Abe.

What you get in Point Blank is an awkward buddy movie where the two stars battle against criminals and corrupt cops. It could be a fun summer movie but, somehow, Point Blank shoots blanks in this original movie.

That’s not to say you won’t walk away with Reel Leadership lessons from Point Blank. That’s not the case. You will find plenty of leadership lessons. What you won’t find is a great movie.

I was okay with that as it was a semi-enjoyable movie. But enough with the quality of Point Blank. It’s time to discuss the leadership lessons in the movie.

While Marvel Studios has been crushing superhero films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 20th Century Fox has been building the X-Men universe through their X-Men films. X-Men: Dark Phoenix marks the 12th film set in their series.

X-Men: The Dark Phoenix is also the last X-Men film to be produced by 20th Century Fox (there is an upcoming New Mutants film that may be a part of this universe). It’s the swan song to what started many great adventures of the X-Men.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Marvel’s Planet Hulk

Long before the rumors of a live-action Planet Hulk movie and the partial Planet Hulk story in Thor: Ragnarok, Planet Hulk was a direct-to-video Marvel animation film. The movie tells the story of a permanently transformed Bruce Banner as the Hulk.

Because of the danger the Hulk possesses, the Avengers decided to send him off to a peaceful planet. As you can guess, something goes wrong. The Hulk wakes up mid-flight and goes into a berserker rage. He destroys crucial navigational instruments and the ship flies off-course.

Crashing landing on the alien planet of Sakaar, he is greeted by aggressors. The Hulk (Rick D. Wasserman) is imprisoned along with other aliens. Their captors force the captives to fight for their freedoms.

There’s scant few who don’t know the story of Robin Hood. Robin Hood steals from the rich to give to the poor. Now, moviegoers have another telling of the Robin Hood story.

Set in the distant past, Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton of Kingsman) is drafted into a war that seems eerily reminiscent of the war in Iraq. Proclaimed to be dead by the Sheriff of Nottingham (Ben Mendelsohn), Robin returns to find Loxley decimated. The Sheriff is taxing citizens to the breaking point. And there’s no one standing up to the evil man.

Robin Hood leadership lessons

There was quite a bit to like in the new Robin Hood movie. The action spurred the movie on. You never felt a dull moment. The characters were decently developed and I felt for Robin as he returned from battle (and death) to discover the love of his life, Marian (Eve Hewson) had moved on and started a relationship with Will Scarlet (Jamie Dornan).  Read more...
