Why Michael Hyatt Was Wrong (And Right) In Disabling Blog Comments

A major influence in my becoming a blogger was Michael Hyatt. His blog on leadership mentored me as I grew in my role as a leader.

Eventually, I took on the role as one of his community leaders. As such, I helped moderate and respond to comments.

That’s why it was such a shock to see his blog post announcing he was disabling comments on his blog.

One of the things I LOVED about Michael’s blog was the fact we had direct access to him. Not only were we able to read his thoughts, we were able to discuss what he shared directly with him.

He’d take the time to read through the blog comments, eventually turning part of this over to his community leaders, and respond to those who commented. It was mind-blowing.

7 Examples Of Great Leadership

One may wonder where they can find examples of great leadership. If you ask me, I’d say you can find these examples almost anywhere.

Sometimes great leadership is discovered in pop culture. Other times you’ll find it in those you know personally. And still you may find great leadership examples from those long gone and far away.

Today, I want to look at 7 people who exemplified great leadership. Granted, they may not have always been great, but they did lead greatly for at least a time.

1. Jim Sinegal, Former CEO of Costco – He’s been declared a man of the people. When he was CEO of Costco, you could call his number and he would answer personally.

He also wanted to be addressed simply. His name tag said he could be called Jim. How cool is that?

Book Review- Platform: Get Noticed In A Noisy World by Michael Hyatt

This is a guest review by Kimanzi Constable who blogs about finding work that you love and chasing your dreams. He is a author, national speaker and life coach, you can read his blog here or follow him on Twitter here.

I have the privilege of being on Michael Hyatt’s Platform Launch Team (along with Joe), so I received an early copy of the book. This book could literally be an entire college course, it has that much value.
