6 Ways To Become A More Positive Leader

No one like a Debbie Downer leader. By being negative, you’re bringing down everyone else. You don’t want this.

It’s not only bad for morale, it’s bad for you. You lose your authority. You lose respect. And you lose the right to hold people accountable when THEY complain (how dare they, right?!?).

That’s why we need to learn how to become more positive…

leaders need to be positive

6 Ways To Become More Positive

  1. Feed your positivity:

Find ways to take in positive content. Whether that’s through great books, close relationships, or inspiring music.

The more you’re seeking out positive inputs, the more positivity you’re going to exude.

The Reason I Slacked Off Tonight

I’m writing this post later than I normally would. It’s almost 11PM where I live.

And here I am writing up a new blog post.

Know the right times to slack

Why? Because I slacked.

Here’s the reason:

slacking with my Vizsla pup

Our new Vizsla puppy wanted to chill with me tonight. He didn’t want to get off the couch. Truthfully, I didn’t want him to either.

So, we laid there while watching Fear The Walking Dead. Or, as a lot of my friends would say, we were slacking.

But you know what? I’m okay with slacking. Especially when I slack for the right reasons.

When You Should Slack Off

We’re pushed to the extreme. Marketers, leaders, business people are always telling us that we need to be doing the hard work.

Baloney!

There’s times we need to have some down time. We have to break away from the routines and spend time with those that are important.

4 Ways Positive Thinking Changes You

On a recent run, I listened to a fascinating book by Jon Gordon. That book was The Positive Dog.

Gordon shared the story a young dog who had been unadoptable at the pound. And he thought that he was going to be there the rest of his life.

Then, one day, an old, wise dog named Bubba stepped into his life. He shared with him the wisdom of thinking positive and how it could change lives.

Change your life with positive thinking

The book was a fun, short story about the power of positive thinking. It also got me thinking about my thoughts and whether I was thinking positively.

The truth is that I haven’t been thinking positive thoughts lately. I’d been pretty negative.

That needs to change. So, I’m remembering what happens when you begin to have positive thoughts.

Finding Joy In Life

Walking around town, you may notice many people lack something in their lives. The people you crossed paths with had scowls on their face. They were rushed. They were missing something.

That something? These people were missing joy.

Joy is an amazing thing.

Joy doesn’t require good things to happen to us. Joy doesn’t require you to be rich. Joy doesn’t require any specific situation in your life.

If we look to the Bible, we can see this is made plain to us. The Bible tells us we should always have joy.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 –

Rejoice always…

James 1:2 ESV –

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds…

2 Corinthians 6:10 –

As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.

10 Ways You Can Acquire The Attitude Of Gratitude

The world is a pretty messed up place. We hear story after story of negative news.

Violence. Crime. Death. These fill the news headlines.

It’s easy to begin to wonder if there’s any happiness left in the world.

And I can say that YES, there is happiness left in the world. One way to obtain this happiness is to acquire the attitude of gratitude.

The attitude of gratitude is a life changing principle we can all grasp onto. This principle is simple to implement yet hard to master.

Today, I want to help encourage you to become mindful of what you’re grateful for with these 10 ways to acquire gratitude.

1. Think on the past: At first, you’ll think this is crazy talk. The past is bad and filled with pain. I agree, there’s quite a bit of pain in the past. I know first hand from having to put my dog down.
