How To Create A Culture Of Innovation And Creativity

Innovation and creativity are hallmarks of a great organization. They know what they do well, think about what to do next, and then innovate to get there.

It’s not always easy. Sometimes, you stumble and struggle along the way. You may even wonder why you desired to be considered innovative and creative.

I think about this even as I type these words. I think about what I need to do to innovate and inspire you. I have to find the creativity within me to do so.

Sometimes, it’s easy to be creative. Other times, I start, stop, and start over again. However, I use a few tips and tricks to inspire the innovation needed to continue creating. These methods transfer over to business and life as well.

Rediscover Your Imagination

Do you remember what it was like growing up? I do… And I miss those days.

Not only because of the freedom I felt when I was riding my bike with friends. Or rollerblading down streets by myself trying to go faster.

Your imagination will be the path to solving your problems

Those were great. But there’s something else I miss from my youthful days.

I miss the imagination I once had.

My imagination used to run wild. I would imagine myself as an astronaut. Flying into the dark abyss of space and discovering new worlds.

Or maybe it was the times playing G.I. Joe. I vividly remember Duke and Snake Eyes and Scarlett battling the evil Cobra. Snake Eyes would climb up the yellowed power cord of a light we had hanging in our living room.

How A Healthy Community Can Help Your Potential Explode

Too often we think of ourselves as ineffective and weak. We cannot change the world. Or so we think.

So we go about our ordinary, everyday lives. Waiting for that moment of greatness.

I’ve got news for you and me. Our moment of greatness will not come from sitting on the couch, by ourselves, twiddling our thumbs.

It just won’t. We weren’t created for individual greatness. We were created for community. We were created to feed off of each other. We were created to be great together.

This is first shown in the Bible with Adam and Eve. They were created for each other. To rule over the land.

We’re also shown this in Genesis 11:5-8.

Here we find the story of the tower of Babel.
