We can help support the men and women in our armed forces this holiday and Christmas season

Show Notes:

Dan, can you tell us a little about yourself?

I spent 22 as an army officer. I’m a paternal twin and my twin brother still serves in the navy, he’s in his 32nd year. We were raised by our aunt and uncle.

This month will be 10 years since I took off the uniform.

Most of my focus is on leadership development at coachtoperform.com. That’s really my passion.

We’d discussed on LinkedIn about today’s topic: Leading veterans and servicemen in the workplace…

Yeah, particularly this time of the year, as leaders, we have to be mindful of some of the stressors, typically the holiday season, both at peacetime and especially the last decade plus, it’s been where suicides have increased.

May You Have A Merry Christmas

I’ll be offline most of the day today celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with family and friends. But I consider you my friends as well.

That’s why I wanted to take a brief minute to write a post to wish you a Merry Christmas.

Christmas is a time to be merry

Remember, today’s not about you or I. Christmas isn’t about the presents under the tree. Christmas isn’t about what we have (or don’t have).

Christmas is about God coming down to earth in the form of a baby.

He came as a man so that he could bear our burdens and wipe away our sins.

As you gather around the Christmas tree or the dinner table, keep your minds and hearts on the reason for this holiday. The birth of a Lord and Savior who didn’t have to come to this world but did so willingly.

I Wish You A Merry Christmas

This Christmas is a little different for Pam and I. Our routine will be different and we have one less family member this year.

Now, this doesn’t mean Christmas this year will be bad, just different. Life has shifted and life goes on. This won’t stop us from celebrating a most marvelous day.

And I hope that whatever changes and difficulties you’ve faced this year won’t change the fact today is a day of celebration.

Christmas represents the birth of something new. Of something that has changed the world.

Don’t let your current circumstances overshadow the gift we’ve been given.

Get together with family or with friends. Spend the day with loved ones.

Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Let today be a day of celebration.

And may you have a very, merry Christmas.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Have yourself a merry christmas

Today is a special day. It’s Christmas. I encourage you to take time today to celebrate the meaning of this wonderful day.

Approximately 2000 years ago, a savior was born into this world. He came to save us and give us a hope of eternity.

Spend the day with friends and family. Share your most valuable resource with them, your time.

If you can’t spend time with those you want to, give them a call. Send them a message. Video chat with them.

Do something to show those around you that you care for them.

With that, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas today.
