Migration is the latest film from Universal Pictures and Illumination (you know, the people who brought us Minions and Despicable Me). The film tells the story of a family of mallards with an overprotective father, Mack (Kumail Nanjiani). He’s been mentally conditioned to see the worst outcome and has a victim mindset.

Because of this, his family has never left their New England pond.

It’s a story of growth, missteps, and family bonding. It’s also a story of leadership growth. Mack and his family grow throughout the movie. Each move they make toward Jamaica leads them on a new adventure with a new chance to grow.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Slumberland

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

Growing up, I remember playing the Nintendo Entertainment System’s video game Little Nemo: The Dream Master by Capcom. It was a video game about Nemo and his journey through dreams. I also remember watching Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland.

The game was based on the comic series from 1910-1911. Those comics didn’t age well.

Recently, a new entry in the Little Nemo series was released. The release is the Netflix movie Slumberland.

Slumberland stars Jason Momoa as the eccentric Flip, Marlow Barkley as Nemo, and Chris O’Dowd as Uncle Phillip.

The Best Leadership Quotes From The Global Leadership Summit Special Edition

I had the pleasure of attending the Global Leadership Summit Special Edition 2023 on February 16th, which was my birthday. The Global Leadership Summit Special Edition was packed full of great content.

The lineup for this summit was fantastic. It included faith-based speakers along with those in the traditional business world. I love when summits do this because you get to hear such a diverse group of voices. You’re then able to take away what you can from the different speakers.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From It’s A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

A Reel Leadership Article

As I typed out the title for the latest Reel Leadership article, I couldn’t help but want to sing the song It’s a Beautiful Day in This Neighborhood. The title of A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood brings back all sorts of memories.

Yet, A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood won’t tell you the story you were expecting. At least it didn’t for me.

I was expecting this movie to be about Mr. Fred Rogers (Tom Hanks), his life, and Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. In A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, you get to see people from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. These include Mr. McFeely (Daniel Krell), president and CEO of The Fred Rogers Company Bill Isler (Enrico Colantoni), and producer Margy (Carmen Cusack). Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Skyscraper

When I first saw the trailer for Skyscraper with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, I was hooked. The trailer for Skyscraper looked like a cross between my favorite Christmas movie Die Hard and Liam Neeson’s Taken. With those two movies combined, it had to be good.

Skyscraper tells the story of Will Sawyer. Will is a former FBI agent with a prosthetic leg after a botched hostage negotiation. He goes on to build a security consulting agency and is tasked with assessing the security and safety of the world’s largest skyscraper, The Pearl, in Hong Kong.

Things begin to go bad and the skyscraper goes up in flames. While this would be issue enough, Will soon discovers his wife Sarah Sawyer (Neve Campbell) and their twin children, Georgia Sawyer (McKenna Roberts) and Henry Sawyer (Noah Cottrell). Will knows he must go to extreme lengths to save the ones he loves.  Read more...
