What could be considered Marvel Comic’s biggest superhero team, The Avengers, are split in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
Captain America: Civil War is about the struggle two leaders of the Avengers. One wants to move towards government control and sanctions. The other believes this will lead the Avengers to be controlled by those government agencies.
The Avengers split. Half of the Avengers join Captain America. The others side with Iron Man.
This rips the Avengers apart.
We see friend fighting friend. We see beloved characters injured. We see what a split in leadership can do to an organization.
And, as always, we see leadership lessons in a movie.

Leadership Lessons And Quotes From Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War
I loved reading comic books growing up. Every week, I’d make sure to hit the local comic book stores.
They were like my home away from home. Entering into Lange’s Sports Connection or Home Base or the comic shop in the rundown strip mall, my heart flooded with joy seeing the walls lined with comic books.
The last couple of summers, the feeling has returned. Only, instead of entering comic book stores, it’s from entering the movie theater.
Why? Because the movie theaters have been flooded with movies based on the comic book characters I loved growing up. X-Men, Avengers, Spider-Man, and so many other titles have hit the big screen.
It’s like childhood again.
Now, one of the characters I never followed as a child has reached the big screen. Ant-Man released on Friday, July 17th and small is the new big. Read more...
I enjoyed the first Avengers movie. Seeing Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Scarlett Johnansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, and Samuel L. I don’t believe it was as great as everyone said it was but it was still enjoyable. Now, Disney and Marvel has released the latest in the Avengers series, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, and this one blows the first movie out of the water.
For those not in the know, the Avengers is a team of superheroes who band together to combat ominous threats to earth. In their first outing, they faced Loki and his evil hordes. In round two, they face off against an evil robot called Ultron.
This sets us up for plenty of leadership lessons and quotes from the Avengers. Let’s dig in! Read more...
And there came a day, a day unlike any other… when Earth’s mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat… to fight the foes no single superhero could withstand… on that day, The Avengers were born.
— Nick Fury
Last Friday Marvel released their blockbuster hit The Avengers. It opened to rave reviews and has broken box office records.
But that’s not all. It tells the story Earth’s mightiest heroes.
The last couple of years we have seen the individual stories of the Avengers. Captain America, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor have all stared in their own movies and faced battles that only they could win.
There is a new threat. These great superheroes are faced with a challenge none of them can defeat by themselves. Thus, Nick Fury has formed the Avengers Initiative. A team of what is to be Earth’s mightiest heroes. A team that the world needs desperately. Read more...
