Leadership Lessons And Quotes From Fantastic Four

A Reel Leadership Article

I’ve been excited to see the new Fantastic Four movie for quite some time. When you break down their story, it’s one of leadership, through and through.

Reed Richards and crew have a vision. They execute on the vision. The vision doesn’t go as planned. They have to run with the consequences.

Perfect parallels for leadership, if you ask me.

Fantastic Four teaches us leadership lessons

However, as the movie approached its release date, the reviews were not promising. Rotten Tomatos reviewers rated the movie at 8%. Critics ripped Fantastic Four apart.

The movie didn’t seem to hold much promise of entertaining. But I went anyways.

I wanted to see what leadership lessons I could find in the Fantastic Four. So, here they are…

CAUTION: Contains Fantastic Four spoilers.

Leadership Lessons And Quotes From Fantastic Four

1. People will laugh at your vision – Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four, always dreamed big. So big that people laughed at him.

Top Posts And Commenters For July 2015

Was it only me or did July fly by? Between the fourth of July holiday, birthdays for my wife and my dad, and the daily grind, July seemed over in a blink.

That’s the way the world works, though. If we’re not careful, we can let our time fly by, never able to reclaim it.

Even though time flew by, I can’t complain about it. Pam and I got in a vacation, I was able to spend lots of time with family, and we were able to enjoy a great variety of music.

Make time for your priorities. It’s worth it.

July 2015

With that, we’re now running headlong into August. Summer is cooling down and Christmas is just around the corner.

The beginning of August also means it’s time for a bit of introspection. It’s time to review the month of July and see where things on the blog ended.

10 Leadership Quotes From Captain America: The Winter Soldier

A Reel Leadership Article

One of my favorite comic book characters, next to Wolverine, has to be Captain America. His story is amazing.

Steve Rogers started off as a scrawny boy who couldn’t cut it in the army, even though he wanted to serve his country. He was recruited for the super-soldier program and became a flying success.

Isn’t this much like our leadership journeys? We’re told we’re not cut out for it, we look for another way, and we become leaders others look up to? Leadership lessons from Captain America: The Winter SoldierLast Friday, Marvel released the newest entry into the Captain America film series, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

My wife and I decided to make this movie a mini-date night as we both enjoy comic book movies. We were both impressed by the storyline of the movie and the action. It was a great flick and one I’d recommend.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever

A Reel Leadership Article

My latest book, Reel Leadership, is now available on Amazon. If you love movies and leadership, you will love this book.

The critically acclaimed Black Panther movie starring Chadwick Boseman was released in 2018. Boseman was hailed as the quintessential Black Panther. Sadly, Boseman passed away on August 28th, 2020, from a battle with cancer.

His death put a kink in the planned Black Panther 2 movie, Wakanda Forever. He was set to continue holding the mantle of Black Panther. However, Marvel Studios had to change the storyline due to the passing of this great movie star.

While Boseman’s presence is missed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you can sense how much the producers, directors, and actors cared for their fallen star. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a love letter to Boseman. And a good one at that!
