My wife and I were invited to a free preview screening of a movie that will release on Friday, March 23rd, 2012.
That movie is October Baby.
The movie, October Baby, tells the story of Hannah, a young woman who collapses during a theatrical play.
After countless medical tests, the results come back. Her health problems are due to her difficult birth.
Along with this truth, she learns that she had been adopted after a failed abortion attempt. This news sends Hannah on a search to find her birth mother and her true identity.
If after watching the movie you feel something like this couldn’t happen, you’re wrong. October Baby is loosely based on the true life story of Gianna Jessen.
I enjoyed the overall storyline of the movie. It seemed to flow naturally and was entertaining.
While most of the actors and actresses were unknowns, they all did a fantastic job.
Rachel Hendrix, the actress who played Hannah, provided the emotions that one would expect to see from a woman who just found out she had been adopted after an attempted abortion. John Schneider, Hannah’s father, also did a terrific job. His portrayal was what I would expect to do if it was suddenly exposed to my daughter that she was adopted.
October Baby exposes the truth behind what can happen during an abortion procedure and the lives it can affect. There are health issues, mental issues, and strained family relations.
All of these aspects were examined during the movie, if only briefly.
This is a must see movie for those that are involved in the pro-life or adoption movement. It will provide you points to discuss with your family and friends who may be thinking of either abortion or adoption.
If you’re looking for a great date night movie this Friday night, I highly recommend you go see October Baby. Who knows, it might just change your world.
