How Is It Even Possible For Us To Be Aware Of Wonder?

I’m currently in Atlanta, GA live blogging the Catalyst Conference. During this time, I’ll be dropping the leadership wisdom shared by the amazing speaker lineup.

Erwin Raphael McManus is an iconoclast known as a cultural pioneer for his integration of creativity and spirituality. Erwin is a storyteller and observer of life. His writings are an exploration of the human spirit and search for what makes us uniquely human. His newest book, The Artisan Soul, explores life as a work of art and is a Los Angeles Times and Publishers Weekly bestseller.

Stop giving your dreams back to God

Be Aware Of The Wonder

We believe a lie. We believe that there are people who are creative. And then there’s you.

Not creative. Ordinary. Plain.

You’d be wrong to believe this.

You’re more than plain. You’re more than ordinary. You’re able to create!

Think about it.

You’ve been created by a creative God. In HIS image.

If you’re created in the image of God and God is creative. What does that make you?

Creative!

We often fail to optimize the potential within us

Be Strategic

There were multiple attempts by McManus to be accepted by TED to speak at one of their events.

Attempt one was denied. Attempt two was denied.

McManus tried again, this time with a strategy.

He found an event that would have fewer speakers apply. He gave a clearer focus.

And this time he was accepted.

The way you approach your issue can determine your results.

Everything Has Intention

Look around nature. Everything has intention.

The sky has an intention. The rivers have an intention. The trees have an intention.

They live in their intention. They have no other possibility.

The only thing that is not forced to live in its intention is the human species.

We have choices.

We choose what we do. We choose what we follow. We choose how we act.

We even choose to live in rebellion by not living the life God intended for us.

We are a future creature. We were created to hope. Hope is only in the future.

Stop Giving Your Dreams Back To God

We’ve kept trying to give something important back to God. That is the ability to create.

God created the world. We know and believe this.

He created this by dreaming and thinking of what He wanted to create. This is the beginning of the universe.

We struggle with this when it comes to us.

But if we’re created in the image of the Creator, we were created to create as well.

We’re creators. Less than God. But similar to God.

Stop giving your dreams back to God. Embrace the dreams God has given you.
