Work agile. The Scrum method. For many big corporations, this is the new way of working. However, this new way of working poses big challenges to office interiors, because now companies need workplaces that are suitable for several scrum teams. These teams need to work simultaneously in the same open office space.

So, what does scrumming mean exactly? And how does it affect the interior layout of your office?

The Meaning of Agile and Scrum

If we look at the true meaning of the word, agile means that you can maneuver with ease. Scrum, on the other hand, is a term used in rugby and football, and it’s basically a way to restart the game by packing together, heads down, and trying to get the ball. In project management, this is translated to putting all heads together and finding a solution.

How Change Impacts Your Leadership

Leading Through Change

We know change is a constant in our lives and leadership. There’s nothing you can do to stop change from coming your way.

IT IS COMING.

But do you know what change will do to your leadership? How will it impact your leadership?

This is the thought every leader needs to keep in the back of their mind as they’re leading through change. You need to think about the implications of change.

They are there. They are real. And they will throw you for a loop if you’re not anticipating change.

How Change Impacts Your Leadership

There are three things change can do to your leadership. Change can positively impact your leadership. Change can negatively impact your leadership. Or change can not impact your leadership at all.

A Guide to Agile Terminology

This is a contributed post to JMLalonde.com. For more information on contributing a post, please see our contributing policies.

Agile working can be termed as a tactical approach to managing projects in which the workforce identifies and concentrates its efforts on projects of higher value. They will try to complete these projects cooperatively, evaluate their impact, and then constantly try and improve the results over time. Some of the terms commonly used in Agile are user stories, epics, and themes. These terms are there to simplify the discussions carried out during scrums.

User Story

The user story is something a user is looking for. However, agile user stories are more than plain text written on your index card. The reason for writing them here in the agile scenario is having a text written that is more understandable to the team, such as “Modification of tax figures on the sales reports” or “Reworking of the monthly sales report”. There are many teams out there who have learned the advantages of writing user stories in the form of “As a” or “So that”. However, the user story doesn’t need to be written in this way.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Terminator: Dark Fate

“I’ll be back…” are the famous words spoken by Arnold Schwarzenegger in his iconic role as a Terminator in the original movie. And he has been back… Again and again.

Terminator: Dark Fate is the sixth movie in the Terminator series. However, it doesn’t take place as the sixth movie.

Main cast of Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator: Dark Fate takes place in the same timeline as The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. If you’ve watched Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, or Terminator Genisys, those movies take place in an alternate timeline.

Dark Fate takes place 28 years after Judgement Day. There’s now a new threat. The machines have now sent a Rev-9 Terminator (Gabriel Luna) unit to dispatch a young woman, Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes). She is the hope for the future resistance.

Change Is A Constant

Leading Through Change

Other than death and taxes, there’s one other thing that you can be sure of in your life. Change. Change is that other constant.

There will never be a part of your life that doesn’t involve change. From your family to your friends to your leadership position.

Everything changes.

Even you!

You cannot escape change. It pursues you like a lion pursues its prey. And change will find you like the lion finds the wounded or weak antelope.

This doesn’t mean you’re weak. What this means is that you’re human. You’re normal. You’re going to face change.

Stop Fighting Change

You may be tempted to try to outrun change like the pursued antelope. I want to give you a word today. That is to stop.

Stop trying to outrun or avoid change. Stop fighting change.
