The Beauty Of Silence

I’ve found myself bombarded by constant noise. From podcasts to audiobooks to music… My life constantly has background noise.

I don’t mind the noise. I love hearing the melodic music or learning in automobile university. However, I made a conscious decision when I returned from a meeting with Concept A. I chose to let the last podcast episode run its course and then I would drive in silence (or as much silence as could in a car).

By letting the podcasts, audiobooks, and music fade away, I was able to find a focus I’d long since lost. The constant noise in my life would let me focus. The silence, it allowed me to focus even more.

How To Live Out Your Faith In The Workplace

Navigating the somewhat tricky landscape of faith and business can be scary. You may have heard of cases such as Jack Phillips, the Christian baker in Colorado who refused to bake a cake for a homosexual couple, or Joel Dahl, the owner of Dahled Up Construction in Oregon, who was sued for hosting a Bible study during working hours.

These cases are scary. They can make a Christian scared to share their faith or even make the acknowledgment of being a Christian.

But, as a believer, Christians are called to share their faith. We are not called to shirk this responsibility for fear of being persecuted. That’s not what being a Christian is all about.

Yet, more and more Christians are shying away from sharing their faith. It’s because of stories like Jack and Joel’s that have made Christians hide their candles under a bushel (no, we’re not supposed to do this!). 4 Leadership Lessons From The Crew Of Davey’s Locker Whale Watching Tours

Pam and I recently had a bucket list opportunity while attending a wedding in Orange County, California. Pam had dreamed of going on a whale watching tour.

You know what I’m talking about. You hop on a boat and head out into the ocean for a 2-hour tour… One you hope doesn’t end up like the S.S. Minnow on Gilligan’s Island. Thankfully, ours turned out fine.

We set sail. We went out into the ocean. And we saw whales!

The tour took place through a company called Davey’s Locker in Newport Beach. Before, during, and after I saw the crew of Davey’s Locker display excellent leadership skills.
