The Challenges Of A Job Transition

I haven’t had a lot of experience with job transitions. However, the job transitions I’ve had, have exposed me to the challenges you will face when switching jobs.

Most recently, I switched companies and experienced the challenges once more. Today, we’re going to talk about what challenges you’ll face as you transition to a new organization and what you can do about them.

The Excitement Of A Job Transition

Let’s be honest, when you choose to transition from one organization to another, the transition is exciting. You get to move into a new organization and help them thrive. Your expertise will change the company you’re going to.

That is exciting. You have new opportunities. New challenges. New relationships. And, hopefully, better pay.

These items make a job transition fun and exciting. You’re getting to move out and expand your horizons.

Rediscover Your Imagination

Do you remember what it was like growing up? I do… And I miss those days.

Not only because of the freedom I felt when I was riding my bike with friends. Or rollerblading down streets by myself trying to go faster.

Those were great. But there’s something else I miss from my youthful days.

I miss the imagination I once had.

My imagination used to run wild. I would imagine myself as an astronaut. Flying into the dark abyss of space and discovering new worlds.

Or maybe it was the times playing G.I. Joe. I vividly remember Duke and Snake Eyes and Scarlett battling the evil Cobra. Snake Eyes would climb up the yellowed power cord of a light we had hanging in our living room.

Quotes And Leadership Lessons From Venom The Movie

A Reel Leadership Article

Despite the merger between Disney and 21st Century Fox inching closer to closing, 21st Century Fox still has a couple of superhero movies left in the queue. Gambit (now apparently lost), Dark Phoenix, and The New Mutants are all upcoming Marvel movies. They’ve also recently released another Marvel movie. That movie? Venom!

Tom Hardy as Venom movie

Venom is the story of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy). Eddie is an out on his luck internet reporter who encounters the alien symbiote of Venom. Venom then takes Eddie as a host.

The Venom movie is filled with a lot of action. It’s also more fun than the critics let on. And, there are plenty of leadership lessons in Venom the movie.

Let’s take a look at those leadership lessons in the latest Reel Leadership article.

The Art of Feeling On Purpose: Creating a Personal Environment of Success

Every external manifestation of successwhether it’s a business venture that is taking off, an ad campaign that’s gone viral, or a sports team that has gained the winning edge—comes about as a direct result of the environment that has been created by and between each of the players.  What we call genius is really nothing more than having the faith and the willingness to hold true to our vision and to be meticulous in our attitude, even in the face of naysayers who invariably try to talk us “back to reality.” A visionary sees in his mind or feels with her gut what has not yet been created—and in so doing, creates it from the inside out.  And when you think about it, this inside-out approach is really the only way we can effectively influence anyone.  It is not our words, our demands, or even the contracts we enter into with one another that inspires people to bring the very best of themselves to any endeavor.  The only way to truly lead is to lead by example, and through the power of our own confidence.

15 Leadership Quotes On Rest

You’re constantly giving to those you’re leading. You give your time, your energy, and your ideas. All of these activities can drain you of your energy.

To be the best leader you can be, you need to learn to rest. You can’t go, go, go and expect to be on the top of your game. You have to pause and take time to recover.

15 Leadership Quotes On Rest

1. Thich Nhat Hanh

We humans have lost the wisdom of genuinely resting and relaxing. We worry too much. We don’t allow our bodies to heal, and we don’t allow our minds and hearts to heal.
