Many months ago, my pastor came up with a crazy idea: Let’s run a half marathon! (For those of you who don’t know, a half marathon is 13.1 miles. That’s a long distance to go by foot.) That sounds crazy enough on its own. The next thing he said was: at 3 AM.
Wait… What? Did I just hear Pastor Ben right? He wants me to run a half marathon early in the morning? Well, he had. And I tentatively agreed.
There was no firm commitment on my part. I think I said: I think I could do that.
Over the next couple of months, we did a couple of preparation runs. We started out at a 6 or 7 miler. Our last run together was 10 miles. That was two weeks before the half marathon.
I was cautious. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to accomplish the whole distance. Read more...
Have you ever had one of those “aha” moments in your life where clarity was immediate?
I have had many moments like this over the last three decades as an entrepreneur, teacher, and parent. I wanted to share a personal experience with you that deeply influenced the content of my recently released book, It All Matters.
I was once asked to speak at a high school in Battle Creek Michigan by a Good friend of mine, Lorin Granger. What Happened At Catalyst Atlanta 2017?
In my opinion, the team at Catalyst brought the house down this year. 2017 had to have been the best speaker lineup and presentation for quite some time.
While previous years have been great, this year really sparked something in me. I feel more courageous. I feel ready to tackle issues I’ve been putting on the backburner and to actually take action.
Others seem to feel the same way after hearing from speakers like Andy Stanley, Jeremy Courtney, Tim Tebow, and more. Read more...
