I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first heard of the Creed movie. The title sounded generic until I saw the movie preview for Creed.

Then it was all over. I knew what Creed was about and I was excited, to say the least.

Creed is the latest movie in the Rocky film series. It could be considered a legacyquel. A movie that continues a movie series but with a new legacy character.

In Creed, the movie picks up with Apollo Creed’s son Adonis.

He’s a troubled kid. He’s also the product of an affair.

He doesn’t have the best chance of succeeding. But isn’t that what Rocky movies are all about?

Rocky’s about an underdog fighting against all the odds. Sometimes the underdog wins. Other times he doesn’t.

Don’t Let Criticism Stop You

Anyone doing a great work will be faced with a major roadblock. That roadblock known by many different names could be summed up in one word – Criticism.

Criticism, it’s the killer of mighty men. Criticism, it’s what will keep you from doing your greatest work.

We often think that fear is the greatest enemy of progress.

We’re fearful we’ll fail. We’re fearful we won’t be fast enough to market. We’re fearful we’ll look like fools.

Fear is a great killer of progress, yet it’s not the greatest enemy. There’s something far more sinister.

That something is our ability to take criticism.

Why Criticism Is Worse Than Fear

Fear holds us back. Fear tells us we can’t do something. Fear is scary.

Rock What You’ve Got

For the longest time, I felt like my place was to be quiet and let others go before. I thought I had nothing to offer the world.

Whenever I’d reflect on who I was, I never saw the good. I never saw that I had skills people would give their right arm for.

I began realizing I had skills that were valuable after I picked up a copy of Dan Miller’s 48 Days To The Work You Love (Check out my interview with Dan Miller). In his book, Dan tells us that there are opportunities all around us. We only need to open our eyes and see.

The words began to seep deep within my soul. I began to see where my talents lay.

I soon discovered I had a penchant for computer repair, leading, and writing.
