Many people think the job of a leader is to answer questions. People want answers and they’re looking to you for answers.

Great leaders do more than answering questions. They take leadership to the next level.

Leaders who know what they’re doing know leaders also need to raise questions of those they’re leading.

Taking people by the hand and leading them from point A to point B is easy. This is the beginning stages of leadership.

Someone asks a question, you answer. Someone has a problem, you solve the issue.

Beginner leadership is all about being the go-to answer person.

Stepping deeper into leadership, great leaders begin to realize they have to do more than be an answer dispensing machine. Almost anyone can fill this role.

Now, Marvel and Disney has released another comic-based movie with Big Hero 6.

Big Hero 6 is the story about Hiro and his brother’s robot Baymax. Along with Fred, Go Go, Wasabi, and Honey Lemon they form an impressive superhero team.

Raise Up The Unknown

Take a deeper look around your organization. You’ll find there are standout employees who are always getting the attention of you and others in leadership.

They seem to be the rock stars of your organization. And you keep promoting them and rewarding them.

It’s what we do with those who perform and do well, right?

But I want to challenge you to begin digging deeper within the ranks of your organization.

There are team members who are virtually unknown. They do great work but receive minimum recognition and encouragement.

They’re not the standouts you typically look for. They’re quiet or not quite as popular. Yet they’re there, working away.

The recent Guardians Of The Galaxy movie really drove home this practice to me.
