Using Music To Enrich Your Life

I’ve heard so much about enriching our lives. And how we have to do that through reading great books, attending conferences, and listening to great audio series.

It’s enough to make you give up on music and go for only the motivational materials. I know because I’ve done it in the past.

I’d given up on listening to the music that I enjoyed and replaced it with everything I was told I needed to listen to.

Making this changed helped, but there always felt like there was something missing. The missing component was the enriching effect music had on my life.

When I made the change from listening to lots of music to listening to hardly any, it was an abrupt change. The change was prompted by mentors of mine telling me that they no longer listened to music. Instead, they filled their minds with enriching audio books or conference audio.

You Reach Your Destiny By Building Your Dynasty

We here a lot of talk about fulfilling our destiny. Living out your purpose, you could say. That’s well and good.

But in the end it won’t mean squat if you haven’t built up a dynasty.

What Is Your Destiny?

It seems everyone is chasing after their destiny these days. They want to discover what they were made for. They want to live a life with purpose.

I say this is great. We need to live a life full of passion, ambition, and desire. It’s what drives us to success.

I also believe we all have a destiny to fulfill. We were put here for a reason.

Discovering this is crucial to feeling contentment and peace with our lives. In the end, it’s our purpose for living.

What It Your Dynasty?

I’m not sure I’ve heard much talk about building your dynasty. This seems to be brushed over in many circles.

1. You notice others skills and abilities: Leaders have a keen eye for people and their talents. They’re able to see the abilities of others and place them in the proper position.

2. You decide where to have dinner: Most people will brush this off as inconsequential. In fact, it’s quite important. You’re taking a leadership role among your friends. You’re also influencing the decisions they’re making.

3. You share resources: Great leaders know they’re goal is to raise up others to new levels. You help others achieve new heights by sharing exceptional learning material.

Your Past Doesn’t Define You. It Helps Shape You

Everyone has a past. We all know this.

Some pasts are filled with darkness: Sexual abuse. Emotional abuse. Accidents. Fear

Some pasts are filled with light: Great families. A happy childhood. Adventures lived again and again.

And most are filled with a mixture of the light and darkness.

Regardless of how much light or darkness we have in our pasts, we can’t allow our pasts to define us.

Our pasts tend to leave a mark on us. Our opinions are typically formed on the basis of what we’ve experienced.

We see our worth through lenses tinted by our past.

Your Past Doesn’t Define You

We see so many people dogged by their past. They live in their failures or success.

Moving From Manager To Leader

Becoming a manager is easy. For the most part, you transition into management by someone giving you the title. It’s something you earned.

Be proud of that. It’s an honor to be recognized for the hard work you do. However, don’t think this makes you a leader.

Leaders are more than managers. They inspire. They share vision. They encourage.

I hope so, as that’s what I want to share with you today. Moving from manager to leader requires you to take a few steps out of your comfort zone. It may even scare your socks off.

That’s okay though. Great leaders still have fears and doubts. They just don’t let all of the fears and doubts keep them from leading.
