Plane is an action movie that will have you at the edge of your seat for most of the film. Starring Gerard Butler as pilot Brodie Torrance, Mike Colter (of Luke Cage fame) as convict Louis Gaspare, and Yoson An as co-pilot Dele, the thrills keep coming for the whole film.

Torrance is the pilot of a plane that was directed to fly through a dangerous storm. The aircraft was struck by lightning, lost power, and crash land safely on an island.

That’s only the beginning. The action really starts now.

Moviegoers have been treated to natural disaster movies. These include films such as Twister, The Day After Tomorrow, and others. Natural disaster movies tap into something that terrifies us while thrilling us.

We’ve also been treated to monster animal movies. Jurassic Park, The Meg, The Grey, and others have brought the horror of animals attacking us to the big screen.

But…

Something happened in 2013. SyFy, a science-fiction focused television channel, merged the two genres. They gave us something that combined animals attacking and natural disasters. That film was Sharknado.

Sharknado became an instant cult classic. The cheesy sci-fi film spawned another five sequels. People flocked to the horrible storytelling, lapses in continuity, and more. The movies were so bad they were good.  Read more...

Finch is a film starring Tom Hanks and showing exclusively on Apple TV+. The film is a survival film set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

While I wasn’t expecting an emotional joyride, Director Miguel Sapochnik and writers Craig Luck and Ivor Powell pulled off an emotional ride. The story hinges on Finch’s (Hanks) journey to find someone to care for his dog, Goodyear, when he passes.

Finch is ill. He knows he doesn’t have long to live. So, he does what he can do and builds a robot companion, Jeff (Caleb Landry Jones), to care for the dog when Finch passes. The connection formed between the threesome is heartwarming and touching. As a dog lover, I completely understood Finch’s desire to see his beloved pet cared for after his death.  Read more...

The critically acclaimed Black Panther movie starring Chadwick Boseman was released in 2018. Boseman was hailed as the quintessential Black Panther. Sadly, Boseman passed away on August 28th, 2020, from a battle with cancer.

His death put a kink in the planned Black Panther 2 movie, Wakanda Forever. He was set to continue holding the mantle of Black Panther. However, Marvel Studios had to change the storyline due to the passing of this great movie star.

While Boseman’s presence is missed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you can sense how much the producers, directors, and actors cared for their fallen star. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a love letter to Boseman. And a good one at that!

How To Be A Fair And Good Leader

I’ve had it with you! You’re through with the company. Pack your bags and get out of here!

Those words are hard to read. They’re harder to live through. Yet so many potential team members have heard words similar to those above.

They’ve been a part of a team with a bad leader. The leader wasn’t fair or good. The leader was plain bad.

I’ve seen something like this first hand.

A customer called to complain a shipment wasn’t received. The owner called the shipping manager into his office. The owner began to berate the shipping manager.

Not only did he berate and belittle him, but he also did it in a manner the whole office could hear. Once he was done, he followed the shipping manager out to the floor, slamming doors along the way and shouting threats at him.  Read more...
