Migration is the latest film from Universal Pictures and Illumination (you know, the people who brought us Minions and Despicable Me). The film tells the story of a family of mallards with an overprotective father, Mack (Kumail Nanjiani). He’s been mentally conditioned to see the worst outcome and has a victim mindset.

Because of this, his family has never left their New England pond.

The Impact Of Gratitude On A Leader’s Life

As we approach Thanksgiving, it’s never more appropriate to consider the impact of gratitude on our lives, especially as a leader. There’s so much to be thankful for and so much we take for granted.

Have you ever been led by someone who lacked gratitude? You could tell, couldn’t you? They walked around with a sour look on their face, their actions displayed disdain to those around them, and there was this sense of tension in the air.

A person that lacks gratitude is hard to be around. Do you know what’s even harder? Being around a leader who lacks gratitude.

It’s impressive what gratitude can do for you. According to the Mayo Clinic, studies have shown that feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood, and immunity. How To Develop A Positive Attitude And Mindset

Did you know that planes have an attitude indicator? I wrote about this topic quite some time ago, and it’s time to revisit our attitudes.

But…

What does a plane’s attitude indicator have to do with anything? The attitude indicator tells a pilot the pitch and bank of an aircraft relative to an artificial horizon. This allows the pilot to keep the plane in the air.

Our personal attitudes need to be checked from time to time. The attitude we have towards life, other people, and our careers can either increase our health and well-being or tank it.

The holiday season always makes me reflect. Holidays bring about thoughts of family, friends, work, and life in general. There’s always something to reflect upon.

This Thanksgiving holiday is no different. We’re one day away from spending time with family, friends, or alone. Ouch, if you’re in that last category.

Yet, we all must regularly reflect, even more so around the major holiday. When we reflect, we are able to see what’s important to us, how we’ve spent our days, and more.

Today, I want to reflect upon gratitude. There are so many things that we can choose to be grateful for. We only have to decide to do so.
