I’ve attended the Catalyst conference for the last 6 or 7 years. Every year I walk away with my mind blown. No doubt, this year will be the same.

The theme for Catalyst Atlanta 2017 is Of Good Courage. That alone should be a reason for attending the Catalyst conference. But I’m honestly excited for the theme.

Catalyst Atlanta 2016 Recap

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Catalyst conference in Atalanta, Georga. Catalyst is a gathering of church leaders who want to grow their skills and abilities.

At Catalyst, you’re also challenged to grow in more than skills. You’re invited into tough questions. And that’s what this year’s Catalyst conference was all about.

There’s been a lot of division within the body of the church. So, Catalyst called a family meeting.

The conference touched on issues from race to how we treat our brothers and sisters to handling money well. They covered a lot in the 2 day conference.

Healthy organizations do something special. When organizations are healthy, everyone understands why everyone else is important.

Think about a football or baseball team. While not everyone gets the same face time, everyone is important. The pitcher needs to throw the ball, the catcher needs to catch the ball, and so on. A great baseball needs to have every type of player on their team.

What is the definition of uncommon fellowship? Head-turning, jaw-dropping, never-would’ve-imagined association.

And if we can get this idea, nothing will ever be the same.

There was once upon a time, that uncommon fellowship happened in our faith. Merchants, slaves and owners, prostitutes, tax gatherers, Jews, Roman Centurions…

Was there ever a more diverse group?

This was the beginning of Christianity.

Jesus predicted uncommon fellowship. A bunch of uncommon people would come together for a common purpose (Matthew 16:18).
